Nigel Ackland

Nigel Ackland After having an accident at work which severely crushed his right forearm, Nigel chose to have a trans-radial (below elbow) amputation. Five years after this procedure, and having used a number of prosthetics, he became the world's first long term tester of the Bebionic V3, which he describes as a "Life Changer". He has been raising awareness of high tech prosthetics and often helps other amputees raise funds to purchase their own prosthetics. Together with Rich MacKinnon, Nigel Ackland will tell us what it means to be a cyborg and what social implications it entails.
