Jeroen Dijsselbloem

Much has already been said and written about the euro crisis: about the causes and consequences of the collapsing economy, the very costly rescue the banking system, the rising debt, the anticipated end of the Euro, the impending exit of Greece, the ongoing search for the culprits, the disagreement on solutions, and the major consequences for people across the Euro-area.

Jeroen Dijsselbloem, president of the Eurogroup, was present at all the negotiations and sometimes spent long nights looking for solutions. In his exceptional book 'The Eurocrisis' he takes us on a journey through the honest story behind the euro crisis, which has never been told before. Where did it really go wrong? How did the crisis ultimately come to be? And what will the future hold for the Eurozone?

‘The Eurocrisis’ is the personal memoire by former Eurogroup chairman Dijsselbloem, in which he describes from the inside how a continent has been balancing on the edge of the abyss for years, and how it was eventually saved.

Jeroen Dijsselbloem (1966) is a Dutch politician. From 2012 to 2017 he was Minister of Finance. From 2013 to January 2018 he was also chairman of the Eurogroup. On 21 September he will be interviewed at the 39th Veerstichting symposium!
