Eye Opener

The year 2010 is a turning point at which we stand. The first decennium of the millenium has gone by and we now stand with both feet in the 21st century. But what does this mean and how can we leap into the future?

The World is filled with views. Broad views, narrow views, surprising views, hidden views... But also closed views. Views that are not in contact with their environment. Views that are not influenced by time, critics and fresh air. Slowly but surely, these views become rusty and engrained. They become dogma, habit or norm. The eyes that hold such views are difficult to open, and do not cede the way for other views.

Is our current collection of views on the world tenable? What is the right balance between conservation and renewal? Which surprising views did we overlook?

In order to research this we want to open the eyes of the World. We want to shed light on the closed views that haven't seen light in years.

During the symposium 500 pairs of colorfull eyes will be brought in contact with one another. By opening them and sharing their views we can form a new and diverse image of our world. Contribute your view and come to our symposium on October 7th and 8th 2010.
